General Fees Structure

Saddle Fitting

My minimum charge per horse is $85 to evaluate the fit of a saddle on a horse. The process generally takes about two hours. I evaluate your horse’s back conformation, check the back for saddle-related pressure points, note injury history, assess the saddle both on and off the horse, and provide a written report. If the fit can be improved onsite, I will adjust the flocking for an additional $25*. Typically, I will need to see you ride in the saddle in order to evaluate it properly. If you would like my opinion on the fit of more than one saddle per horse, there is an additional $55 charge.

If your saddle does not fit, or if you are in the market for a new saddle, I will be happy to recommend a wide variety of saddles that may work.

Purchasing a New Saddle

In addition, I offer several models of saddles, including Borne, Custom, and Advanced Saddle Fit. The charge to demo a saddle that I offer is $125. This fee includes a fitting, an evaluation of how the saddle performs while you ride the horse, a back tracing, and if necessary, digital photos.

Selling your Saddle

I offer a used saddle service for my clients. If you want to sell your used saddle, for a $50 fee I will post an advertisement including a photo of your saddle on my website.

Myofascial Release/Equine Massage

$85 per horse per session. I also charge a travel fee as noted above.

Travel Fee

I charge a travel fee of 43 cents per mile roundtrip to your barn. I split the travel fee among all clients at your barn, based on the roundtrip distance from your barn to Barboursville, VA. Hence, it is more cost effective for you, if I am able to see multiple clients, so the mileage fee can be split among your group.

NOTE: I do not charge a barn call fee.

Here is a breakdown of my typical charges:

Saddle Fit = $85

Flocking adjustment (if needed) = $25

Mileage (In this example 68 miles; divided by three) = $19

Total Charges to you = $129
